20 March 2023- Spring equinox. For those of us in the northern hemisphere today is the first day of Spring. Spring is about new beginnings, new life. Natural world revives and reinvigorates after the colder winter months. Tiny leaves make an appearance on bare trees, plants begin to grow again, daffodils dance and days start to get longer.... life returns. On the first day of Spring, I am inspired by these four quotes.
“New beginnings always start in the here-and-now.” ― Richelle E. Goodrich
Not the winter that has gone by or the season before then. Not what lies ahead. New beginnings start today, in the present, the as is. We must stop fretting about what could have been, or what should it be like. Accept the present, where you are and make that the starting point.
Let the today be the starting point of whatever you aim to achieve …not where you should have been. Or where you could have been.
“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” ― George Eliot
Every morning what gets me out of bed...is this thought-If I ever meet God and ask them, is this what you planned for me? And God says I planned a whole lot more for you...you just didn't make the effort...you let life pass by you.
It's never too late for anything. Starting today is better than starting tomorrow or a month later or a year later. Don't let life pass you, thinking it's too late start now.
"If all you can do is crawl, start crawling.” ― Rumi
And when you start...start however you can....small steps, baby steps and if you can't walk..crawl. Small progress is better than no progress, Move forward. Take action.
"If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello"―
Paulo Coelho
Most importantly, a chapter has to end for another to start. New beginnings also mean goodbyes to habits, attitudes, energies that no longer serve us well or are relevant. They also mean letting go of comfort and embracing the uncertainty of unknown paths. New beginnings therefore require a concoction of commitment, boldness, resilience and courage to let go of the familiar. So, on the first day of spring…what is inspiring you? Is there any new beginning for you?
