Today, in the northern hemisphere it's the Autumn Equinox, a day that holds special significance for me. It marks the birthday of my son, a day I eagerly celebrate every year. As the day progresses, I find myself cherishing these final moments of summer, knowing that by late evening, I will bid farewell to the warmth it brought.

On Autumn Equinox, day and night are of equal length, symbolizing the transition into Autumn. It's a bittersweet moment as I say my farewells to the sunny days and balmy nights that have defined the summer season. At the same time, I can't help but feel the anticipation and excitement that come with the arrival of what I consider the most exquisite season of all - Autumn.

In this dance between goodbyes and hellos, between the radiant sunshine and the cool, brisk evenings, I'm reminded of the profound lessons that the changing seasons teach us...

Change is an ever-present force in our lives, a constant reminder that nothing remains static. Seasons serve as poignant teachers, urging us to not only accept change but to celebrate it. Each season bestows its unique form of joy and beauty upon us, much like the diverse seasons of life. Rather than dwelling on what has slipped away or the unexpected twists life may bring, let us revel in the commencement of fresh beginnings.

Every season shares with us its own wisdom. Autumn, for instance, is a skillful teacher in the art of letting go. It paints the trees in breathtaking golden and red hues, showing us the beauty in release as they gracefully shed their leaves.

Seasons teach us how to cope with difficult times- When we find ourselves in the midst of difficult seasons, we gain the wisdom to recognise that they are temporary, for if there is one absolute truth, it is the constancy of change.

Changing seasons also highlight the importance of adaptation and accepting the present moment. When facing difficult times, we adapt to new circumstances, find creative solutions, and learn to thrive in different conditions. We also learn acceptance- we cannot force spring to arrive early or prevent winter from coming.

And seasons, in their ever-shifting beauty, teach us to recognise and celebrate the uniqueness of our own personal seasons. Whether you find yourself in a season of new beginnings, hard work, savoring the moment, or rest, there are lessons to be learned and growth to be gained from every experience.

Similar to nature, our lives are not without its imperfections. However, the reassuring truth is that we can wholeheartedly embrace all of these imperfections and take wisdom from every phase, which we can then carry forward into the upcoming chapters of our journey.

Ultimately, changing seasons inspire me to embrace change, find joy in the journey, and gather wisdom from the ebb and flow of life's seasons. Whilst I savor the beauty of the changing seasons and bookmark lessons learned, I make sure to seize the perfect moment to capture a pic that sums up the essence of the Autumn Equinox- a pic with first brown leaves, nestled alongside tiny wildflowers in full bloom signaling the end of summer and the arrival of autumn.

How does changing seasons speak to you?
